This new soccer Tournament has been created in collaboration with Lobo’s long-time friend and associate, Clayton Rosario, Director of Elite Soccer Development (ESD).
The YSLO Niagara International Cup offers the opportunity for Girls and Boys, ages Under 8 up to and including Under 18, to participate in an event which will feature top competition, an overall experience, and play against teams from not only outside the greater Niagara area and Ontario, but also from other Provinces and countries. At this time, initial commitment has been received from teams from Quebec, Manitoba, Nepal, USA and Croatia.
Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 4 games. All ages will play with scores and standings being recorded together, and with Awards being presented to the 2 Finalists in each age Group, as well as MVP’s being selected for each Final by the participating Referees.
Also featured as an integral part of the Event will be the Showcase Division for Under 15, 16 and 17 year old Girls and Boys. Each team will play 2 full games with one scheduled on Saturday and the other Sunday, and will have the opportunity to show their skills and abilities to attending Canadian and USA University and College Coaches for possible scholarships. F.I.F.A. Agents will also be attending to ascertain if any players have the ability to pursue a career with a Professional Club or Academy.
Working in conjunction with The Niagara Sports Commission, the YSLO Niagara International Cup will further provide local Hotels, Restaurants and other businesses. Additional opportunities for positive revenues are available in the area as it is a world renowned “destination of choice”, as well as sporting activities are the latest significant factors being promoted towards this overall beneficial end.
